I'd love to do something better with this, but don't have the time right now. As usual
Here are a few photos I took to help illustrate issues that have received a lot of discussion in alt.disney.disneyland. Living over 300 miles away from Disneyland, I often find it frustrating trying to guess what everyone on a.d.d is talking about, so I thought I'd take these shots to help other out-of-towners.
Unfortunately, the majority of my pictures didn't turn out, but I still got a handful of semi-useful shots.
This is the Carnation restaurant that is rumored to be taken out or drastically changed in January. Visit Andrew Rich's Save Carnation website if you want to join the campaign to save it. Unfortunately, my picture of the interior didn't turn out.
This is the construction for the Light Magic viewing area along Small World Way.
Here's a shot of the old PeopleMover tracks with the motors removed. All the track I saw looked like this section by the Monorail station. I couldn't see any signs of other work.
This is the new sign at the main parking lot entrance.
Here's a shot of those mysterious ship's masts over the New Orleans Square skyline that hide the searchlights for the Disney Lights (the masts are above the buildings at the center of the photo). Unfortunately, the shot I took of this area at night didn't turn out.
- I took several shots of the old Carousel of Progress building, but I didn't get anything that isn't already available on the Disneyland: Under Construction site [ Note: As of 5/21/1998, that site no longer exists ], so I haven't scanned them in.
